Fall Out Boy looks to Plus 44 for guidance
Fall Out Boy personally selected all the opening acts on the band's current Honda Civic Tour, including Plus 44, which features former Blink-182 bassist Mark Hoppus and drummer Travis Barker. Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz told us that he wanted to repay the pair for taking Fall Out Boy on tour during the Blink era, and also thought his band could still learn from them: "We're really in our adolescence as a band and we need someone who's kind of gone through that before, 'cause there's no real handbook on how to be, you know, whatever. And it's really great to have people who have been through it to show you the ropes and kind of just be around, you know. And I think Mark and Travis definitely represent that."
The bill also features The Academy Is..., Paul Wall and Cobra Starship. The tour pulled into Milwaukee, Wisconsin on Thursday night (May 17th).
Fall Out Boy finally began the tour in Denver last Friday (May 11th) after delaying its start for nearly a month due to personal reasons.
The Chicago-based act is supporting its third album, Infinity On High, which arrived in February.
In other news, Wentz's custom record label, Decaydance, has announced the signing of Las Vegas piano-pop quintet the Cab. According to Alternative Press, the band's debut will be out later this year. Decaydance's previous signings include Cobra Starship and Panic! At The Disco.
