Foo Fighters push back reissue release
Foo Fighters has pushed back the release of the 10th anniversary edition of the band's second album, The Colour and the Shape, from June 26th to July 10th. According to Billboard.com, the double-CD expanded version will feature covers of Killing Joke's "Requiem," Gary Numan's "Down in the Park" and Gerry Rafferty's "Baker Street," along with original B-sides "Drive Me Wild," "Dear Lover" and "The Colour and the Shape." The disc, which was originally issued in May of 1997, is considered the band's most popular and included several of the band's biggest hits, such as "Everlong," "My Hero" and "Monkey Wrench." The Colour and the Shape was the only Foo Fighters album to feature drummer William Goldsmith, who was replaced by Taylor Hawkins as the album neared completion.
The band is currently recording its sixth studio effort, with frontman Dave Grohl telling England's XFM Radio, "We're making a really big powerful record, which I'm very excited about."
Foo Fighters will perform with the Police on June 23rd at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, and also play in London on July 7th as part of the worldwide Live Earth concerts.
