Green Day design charity T-shirt for Hard Rock
Green Day has designed a T-shirt for Hard Rock International's Signature Series, which will be available beginning on June 12th at all Hard Rock locations around the world. Proceeds from sales of the shirt will benefit Amnesty International's "Instant Karma" Campaign to Save Darfur and will be sold exclusively at Hard Rock locations around the world. Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong said in a statement, "We are excited to be a part of the Signature Series program and proud to partner with Hard Rock for such a great cause. The program is going to provide tremendous support for Amnesty International and Instant Karma, a campaign that we sincerely believe in and are committed to."

GreenDay is the 24th musical act to design a shirt for the Signature Series program, which has previously featured designs by Ozzy Osbourne, Elton John, Bruce Springsteen, Shakira and others.
The new shirt ties in with the June 12th release of Instant Karma: The Amnesty International Campaign to Save Darfur, a double-CD collection of John Lennon covers that includes Green Day's version of "Working Class Hero," as well as contributions by Snow Patrol, U2, Aerosmith, R.E.M., Christina Aguilera, Matisyahu, Black Eyed Peas and others.
All proceeds from sales of the album will benefit Amnesty International's campaign to end the Darfur genocide. Lennon's widow, Yoko Ono, is donating all publishing royalties from the album to the Darfur campaign.
Green Day performed "Working Class Hero" on Wednesday night's (May 23rd) season finale of American Idol.
