Killers cut concert short, saddle up for new video
The Killers cut short their concert on Thursday night (May 17th) at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado, according to local television station KUSA. The group had just played their second song, "When You Were Young," when frontman Brandon Flowers walked off the stage. A doctor later came out to announce that Flowers had injured his throat and would risk further harm to his voice if he continued singing. The show has been rescheduled to September 4th.
In other news, the Killers recently shot a video for their new single, "For Reasons Unknown." Guitarist Dave Keuning told us that the shoot involved the band's previously untested abilities as equestrians: "At one point we ride horses, which I had never done before. I'd never ridden a horse in my life. It was difficult at first, and then, you know, we got used to it. I was afraid of getting, you know, bucked off and I didn't want to be the next Christopher Reeve. But I kind of got the hang of it, and I kind of liked it by the end of the shoot."
Late actor Christopher Reeve was paralyzed from the neck down in a 1995 horse-riding accident.
The Killers are currently on tour in support of their sophomore album, Sam's Town. They were due to play in Vancouver, Canada on Monday night (May 21st).
The Las Vegas-based act completes its current North American tour in early June and will return for another U.S. run in September.
Flowers and his wife Tana are expecting their first child in July. The Killers will take some time off from touring that month so that the singer can stay home with his wife and new baby.
