Kurt Cobain's belongings on auction
Late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain's widow, singer and actress Courtney Love, plans to auction off most of Cobain's belongings, according to Spinner.com. Love told the web site, "I'm going to have a Christie's auction. (My house) is like a mausoleum. My daughter (Frances Bean Cobain) doesn't need to inherit a giant Hefty bag full of flannel f***ing shirts. A sweater, a guitar and the lyrics to '(Smells Like) Teen Spirit' -- that's what my daughter gets. And the rest of it we'll just f***ing sell." Love added that much of the money from the sale will go to charity.Frances Bean Cobain, now 14 years old, was born the year before her father shot himself in 1994.
Love insisted that her late husband is still a major influence in her life, saying, "I still wear his pyjamas to bed. How am I ever going to go form another relationship in my lifetime wearing Kurt's pyjamas?"
A date has yet to be announced for the auction.
Meanwhile, Love is readying her second album for release. Titled Nobody's Daughter, the CD will allegedly feature songs inspired by Love's relationships with Cobain, Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan and actor Edward Norton. Love said that two songs on the album, which does not yet have a release date, are based on a more recent, unnamed romance.
