Linkin Park headed for number one
Linkin Park's third album, Minutes to Midnight, is a lock to debut at Number One on this week's Billboard album chart, according to Hits Daily Double. The record is expected to sell between 550,000 and 600,000 copies in its first week of release, easily giving it the biggest-selling first week of what has been an otherwise dismal year for the music industry. The chart numbers will be published on Wednesday (May 23rd). Minutes to Midnight was released on May 15th and follows up the California band's multi-platinum 2003 effort, Meteora.
A special deluxe edition of the new album comes with an interactive DVD containing downloadable MP3s for all the songs, videos, a ringtone of the band's current single, "What I've Done," and more.
Linkin Park will kick off its Projekt Revolution tour on July 25th.
