Linkin Park sets lineup, schedule for "Projekt Revolution"
Linkin Park announced the lineup and itinerary for this summer's Projekt Revolution tour at a press conference in New York City on Monday (May 7th). Featured acts on the two-stage bill will include My Chemical Romance, Taking Back Sunday, H.I.M., Placebo, Saosin, Julien-K, the Bled, Styles of Beyond, Madina Lake and Mindless Self-Indulgence, with the latter group headlining the second stage. The tour will launch on July 25th in a city to be announced, with dates confirmed through September 3rd in Denver. Vocalist Chester Bennington said in a statement, "I couldn't be happier with the group of artists joining us on Projekt Revolution this summer. Linkin Park is thrilled to be joined by this amazing group of artists and I know the audience will share in our excitement."
The tour will be an environmentally conscious "green" event, with one dollar from each ticket being donated to American Forests for their Global ReLeaf program to plant trees to help reduce global temperatures.
Linkin Park's new album, Minutes to Midnight, arrives on May 15th.
The record leaked onto the Internet over the weekend, prompting the band's label to issue two new songs to radio stations on Monday (May 7th).
Linkin Park will play a special concert on May 11th at New York's Webster Hall, which will be filmed and then screened in selected movie theatres around the country on May 14th. The concert will also be webcast by AOL Music that same night, beginning at 9:30 p.m. ET.
