New Rick Wakeman DVD to feature songs and storytelling
A new DVD called The Other Side Of Rick Wakeman will be released in August, showcasing the sometime Yes keyboardist's ability as a storyteller, in addition to solo piano performances of some classic Yes and solo material. Wakeman's performance was taped before a studio audience in the U.K., and includes him telling many anecdotes and stories from over the course of his career, including the recording of many classic Yes songs, as well as stories from his session work with David Bowie and Cat Stevens.
While Wakeman is primarily known to American rock audiences for his work in Yes and as a solo artist, in the U.K. he is popular with the general public as a frequent television talk show guest and guest host.
Songs Wakeman performs on the new DVD include "Life On Mars" (by David Bowie), "Morning Has Broken" (by Cat Stevens), and the Yes tracks "And You And I" and "Wonderous Stories," as well as many solo tracks.
