1973 Led Zeppelin opens a U.S. tour, which is billed as the "biggest and most profitable rock & roll tour in the history of the United States." A group spokesman predicts the group will gross over $3 million.
1993 Live: Right Here, Right Now by Van Halen is certified both gold and platinum.
1995 U2 announces plans to launch Zoo-TV, a series based on their 1993 tour, on MTV that summer.
1998 Stone Temple Pilots' first three albums -- Core, Purple, and Tiny Music: Songs From The Vatican Gift Shop -- are certified multi-platinum for sales of seven, five, and two million, respectively.
2002 Ozzy & Sharon Osbourne attend the annual White House Correspondents Dinner in Washington, D.C., as the guest of TV commentator Greta Van Susteren.
2004 Celebrity Justice reveals that former Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash and bassist Duff McKagan have filed a lawsuit against lead singer W. Axl Rose, claiming that Rose has cost them millions of dollars by canceling deals that would have placed Guns N' Roses songs in various movies.
2004 The Jimi Hendrix tribute Power Of Soul: A Tribute To Jimi Hendrix, which features Eric Clapton, Carlos Santana with Living Colour singer Corey Glover, Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble, and Sting, among others, is released.
2006 Pearl Jam performs on The Late Show With David Letterman, and they also do a mini-concert on the street outside the Ed Sullivan Theatre in New York City after the TV taping.
2006 Black Sabbath's "Iron Man" is named Number One on VH1's list of the "40 Greatest Metal Songs."
