Ozzy Osbourne recalls Birmingham
Ozzy Osbourne will be the first person inducted into the new Birmingham Walk of Stars. The British city's Broad Street will be home to the Walk, which will honor the industrial center's most famous sons and daughters. Osbourne's induction ceremony will be held on July 6th, and the Black Sabbath vocalist will attend. Ozzy said in a statement, "I have a star in Hollywood on their Walk of Fame but having a star in my home town means so much more to me."Ironically, Ozzy told us that he used to think growing up poor in Birmingham was the cause of all his family's problems: [

I thought all the family hardship was caused over lack of money, you know. And that's not the case." Osbourne's induction will be commemorated with the installation of a brass star on the pavement. He'll play a homecoming show that night in the city.
Birmingham is often called "the birthplace of heavy metal." Black Sabbath and Judas Priest were both formed there, while Led Zeppelin's Robert Plant and John Bonham were born in the area.
The singer was inducted into the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2002.
Ozzy performed two songs Friday night (May 18th) on the CW Network's Friday Night SmackDown, which aired at 8:00 p.m. ET.
His new album, Black Rain, comes out this coming week and is now streaming online in its entirety.
