Perry Farrell's Satellite Party goes green
Former Jane's Addiction frontman Perry Farrell's new band, the Satellite Party, will release its debut disc on May 29th in what a press release described as "an entirely eco-friendly, green form." The digipack containing the CD will be made exclusively out of recycled paper, while the disc itself will be carbon-neutral. All the estimated carbon dioxide produced by the manufacture, shipping and packaging of the record will be offset by the construction of renewable energy projects.
The Satellite Party also features former Extreme guitarist Nuno Bettencourt, while the album contains guest appearances from Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea and guitarist John Frusciante, Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie and others.
The first single from the CD is called "Wish Upon A Dog Star." A video for the track premiered on Yahoo! Music on Tuesday (May 1st).
The band will perform on CBS-TV's Late Show with David Letterman on June 5th, and has scheduled a residency on Last Call with Carson Daly for June 12th, 13th, 14th and 15th.
