Phil Spector's trial delayed
Phil Spector's murder trial for the shooting death of actress Lana Clarkson has been put on hold until Monday at the earliest, following the illness of Spector's lead defense attorney Bruce Cutler. Cutler became ill earlier in the week due to complications from his diabetes medicine. Judge Larry Paul Fidler suspended the case until yesterday (May 16th), however Cutler's condition did not improve, thus forcing the postponement. Cutler is perhaps best known as the lead defense lawyer of New York mob boss John Gotti.
Spector is accused of killing B-movie actress Lana Clarkson at his home in February 2003.
Earlier this year, Clarkson's family filed a wrongful death civil suit against Spector. That case will begin following the conclusion of Spector's criminal trial.
