Sammy Hagar cancels weekend shows
Sammy Hagar's annual visit to his club in Nevada has been postponed. Hagar and his band the Wabos were supposed to do shows tonight (Friday, May 4th), tomorrow (Saturday, May 5th), and Sunday (May 6th) at his Tahoe Wabo location in Lake Tahoe, but he's backed out of the gigs due to an unspecified illness. The dates will be made up at one big show at the Harvey's Outdoor Arena in Lake Tahoe on June 17th. The show will act as the official opening of the lakefront's summer season.
This weekend marks the third anniversary of Hagar's opening a Cabo Wabo outpost in Lake Tahoe. So far, it's the only one in the U.S., but there are plans to open another one in the fall in Fresno, California.
Hagar is only playing a handful of dates this year, but he plans to rev it up in a big way in 2008.
