U2 live in Cannes

The members of U2 were on hand for a screening of their new 3-D concert film in Cannes, France, on Saturday (May 19th), and they did more than just sit in their seats. Before the show began, the band took the stage outside the Palais Des Festivals and ran through "Vertigo" and "Where The Streets Have No Name." Afterward, they went inside for a rough version of the 3-D movie U23D, which was shot in South America on the Vertigo world tour last year.

At a press conference before the screening, the production team behind U23D explained that their film is more than just a concert movie, saying, "It's about the performance of the band, and their relationship with each other on stage, and with their audience. We wanted to show how each song has an arc, and the setlist has an arc, and the movie shows this." They added that the movie could be in 1,000 theaters this year.

U23D isn't finished yet, but the version that was shown included the songs "Vertigo," "Beautiful Day," "Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own," "Love And Peace," "Sunday Bloody Sunday," "Bullet The Blue Sky," "Miss Sarajevo," "The Fly," and "With Or Without You."
