Witness says Phil Spector tried to have sex with her at gun point
Jurors in the murder trial of Phil Spector heard from a woman Wednesday (May 9th), who claims that he tried to have sex with her at gunpoint. The Associated Press reported that music talent coordinator Dianne Ogden, who was romantically linked to Spector in the 1980s, testified about a 1989 incident in which Spector turned "demonic" when she tried to leave his Los Angeles home, forced himself on her, and reportedly told her that he "was going to blow her brains out."
Ogden stated that, "He was screaming at me, the F-word. He wasn't my Phil, not the man I loved. It wasn't him. He was demonic. It scared the hell out of me." Ogden added that although Spector attempted to have sex with her, he did not. She went on to explain that the morning after the altercation, Spector was singing in the shower as if "nothing had happened."
She went on to say that the last time she saw Spector was at his house, and that when leaving the small gathering he tried to persuade her from leaving, before telling her, "I have an Uzi with me and I'm going to kill you."
Spector's lead attorney Bruce Cutler told the jury that Ogden never pressed charges against Spector, and was only testifying because she was under subpoena.
Ogden's accounts of Spector's violent behavior follows another of Spector's former lovers, celebrity agent Dorothy Melvin, who claimed that Spector threatened her with a gun, hit her on her head, and left menacing phone massages for her, which were played in court.
Spector is accused of murdering actress Lana Clarkson in 2003. He is free on $1 million bail. If convicted he faces 15 years to life in prison.
