Yellowcard putting up "Paper Walls"
Yellowcard will release its new album, titled Paper Walls, on July 17th, according to a press release. The disc will follow up 2006's Lights and Sounds, which proved to be a disappointment sales wise after the double platinum success of the band's 2003 major label debut, Ocean Avenue. Lights and Sounds also got a lukewarm response from fans who felt that the pop-punk act strayed too far from its sound, which the group has apparently tried to rectify on the new CD. The first single from the album is called "Light Up The Sky."
Yellowcard faced several problems during and after the making of Lights and Sounds. The band split with founding guitarist Ben Harper in late 2005, while singer Ryan Key had to undergo throat surgery last year.
Paper Walls marks the recording debut of Harper's replacement, Ryan Mendez.
A deluxe CD/DVD version of the record will also be available, featuring exclusive behind-the-scenes footage and two additional live bonus tracks.
The band will join the 2007 Warped Tour from June 29th to July 19th, with more summer live dates to be announced soon.
