The Police release 2-CD greatest hits
In celebration of the launch of the Police's current reunion tour, the band is releasing a new double disc compilation featuring 28 of their best known tracks. The set is simply titled The Police, and includes such highlights as "Roxanne," "Message In a Bottle," "Don't Stand So Close To Me," "Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic," and "Every Breath You Take."The complete tracklisting for The Police:
DISC ONE: "Fall Out," "Can't Stand Losing You," "Next To You," "Roxanne," "Truth Hits Everybody," "Hole In My Life," "So Lonely," "Message In a Bottle," "Reggatta De Blanc," "Bring On The Night," "Walking On The Moon," "Don't Stand So Close To Me," "Driven To Tears," and "Canary In A Coalmine."

Sting says that he and the band always tried to make the group's albums enjoyable on several different levels: "There were layers there, you know and all that stuff was already inherent in the music, but you didn't really have to respond to it, because it was loud and raucous and fun. But again, I was trying to unveil something underneath that. I wanted some substance to it that would intrigue me and maybe a few other people. I just kept doing that."
The Police will next perform on Saturday (June 2nd) in Edmonton, Alberta at the Commonwealth Stadium.
