Fans making their way to the opening night of the Rolling Stones' European tour on Tuesday night (June 5th) in Werchter, Belgium had to brave a 30-mile traffic jam. The band are on the road making up dates that were postponed last year to Keith Richards' brain injury. The band will play 30 shows across Europe, including stops in Belgrade, Serbia, and in St. Petersburg, Russia, which will mark the band's first-ever show there. Styx will be honoring Adam Sandler in Los Angeles Saturday night (June 9th), during Spike TV's taping of the new show Guy's Choice, which will premiere on the cable channel on June 13th. Styx is reportedly Sandler's all-time favorite band.
Queens Of The Stone Age have added several bonus tracks to the European digipak version of their upcoming album, Era Vulgaris, which is due out on June 12th. The special edition, available as an import from the group's online store, includes covers of Tom Waits' "Goin' Out West" and Elliot Smith's "Christian Brothers," along with a remix of the album track "I'm Designer." Army Of Anyone is inactive at the moment after releasing its self-titled debut album last year and touring behind it for several months. Singer Richard Patrick is recording songs for the next Filter album, while guitarist Dean DeLeo and bassist Robert DeLeo, both ex-Stone Temple Pilots, are working with 10 Years on songs for that band's next effort. There's no word on when or if Army Of Anyone will see action again. (Harddrive Radio)
Online gambling game developer Microgaming has licensed the images of Ozzy, Sharon, Jack and Kelly Osbourne for a new video slot game due to hit the Web this fall. Microgaming CEO Roger Raatgever said in a statement, "Online gaming is well and truly part of the entertainment mix and we can't wait to launch our cutting-edge Osbourne video slot to players later this year. Operator has pushed back the release of its debut CD, Soulcrusher, from June 26th to July 3rd. No reason was given for the delay. The band begins a tour with Black Stone Cherry on June 12th. (Tunelab Music)
Perry Farrell's new band, Satellite Party, debuted at Number 91 on this week's Billboard album chart with its debut disc, Ultra Payloaded. The CD sold just under 8,000 copies in its first week of release.
Yellowcard has posted a new track called "Five Becomes Four" at the band's MySpace page. The song comes off the pop-punk act's upcoming album, Paper Walls, which arrives on July 17th. (Punknews.org)
