Rolling Stones film set for September
The new Martin Scorsese-directed Rolling Stones documentary, Shine A Light, will hit theatres on September 21st. Billboard reported that the majority of the film's footage was shot last fall at the Stones' New York City concerts at the Beacon Theatre. Among the guest performers during the Stones' stand were the White Stripes' Jack White, Buddy Guy and Christina Aguilera.Shine A Light will be the Stones' fifth theatrically released motion picture, following 1970's Gimme Shelter, 1974's Ladies And Gentleman: The Rolling Stones, 1982's Let's Spend The Night Together, and 1992's The Rolling Stones At The Max.
The song "Shine A Light" was originally released on the band's 1972 album Exile On Main Street.
Mick Jagger and Scorsese are currently partnering in the production of an upcoming music-business feature, called The Long Play.
Happy Birthday to Stones guitarist Ron Wood, who turned 60 on June 1st.
The Rolling Stones kick off a series of European dates on June 5th in Werchter, Belgium. Their tour wraps up in late August.
