Slash faces fine for smoking onstage

Velvet Revolver guitarist Slash and lead singer Scott Weiland could both face fines for smoking onstage during the band's concert at the International Arena in Cardiff, Wales on Thursday night (June 7th), according to icWales. Slash and Weiland reportedly chain-smoked their way through the show despite a ban on smoking in any enclosed space that was passed by the Welsh legislature in April. The two musicians could each face a fine of fifty pounds, or $98, while the venue itself could be fined the equivalent of up to $5,000 for not stopping the artists from lighting up.

The Cardiff city council confirmed it would investigate the matter.
Velvet Revolver is playing shows in Europe to promote the upcoming release of the band's second album, Libertad, which is due out July 3rd.
Velvet Revolver will tour the U.S. with Alice In Chains later this summer.
