Brian May backed out of Diana concert to avoid embarrassment

Queen guitarist Brian May reportedly pulled out of a planned performance at Sunday's (July 1st) "Concert For Diana" in London, to avoid embarrassment, reports blabbermouth. May reportedly told the London Daily Mirror that he was planning to perform the Queen/David Bowie hit "Under Pressure" with British soul singer Joss Stone.

May wrote on his website brianmay.com: "Yes, the wonderful Joss Stone did ask me to play 'Under Pressure' with her, and initially I did say yes. But when I realized how very different the arrangement was from the original, I realized that I was not going to be able to do it justice. So we talked, and I apologized, and we agreed that we would get together and create something new instead sometime soon." in the meantime, May is working on completing his thesis on astronomy.
