Guns N' Roses bassist issues update on charity auction
Guns N' Roses bassist Tommy Stinson has posted an update on the results of an auction he organized recently for the family of his sister-in-law, who were the victims of a horrific crime earlier this year. According to Blabbermouth.net, Stinson wrote, "I'd like to thank all the GN'R fans out there for making the eBay charity auction a huge success. The guitar and jerseys made over $13,000!!!!!! My family is forever grateful to you all for the love and support you have given."
On February 3rd, 2007, Stinson's sister-in-law, Hilary Kruger, was shot and her husband and one of her sons murdered when a stranger broke into their home. A second son, Zak, was staying at a friend's that night.
Stinson added, "The money made from the auction will go a long way in helping Hilary and Zak put their lives back together."
The Krugers lived in the small town of Waseca, Minnesota. Police reportedly had a man in custody shortly after the murders.
The items up for auction included a guitar and a number of jerseys all signed by every current member of Guns N' Roses. A benefit concert featuring Soul Asylum and Golden Smog was held in Waseca on June 9th.
