Keith Richards says he's used to being imitated incorrectly
Keith Richards and his The Pirates Of The Caribbean co-star Johnny Depp gave an extensive joint interview to Britain's Uncut magazine. Depp has long claimed that he based his character of Jack Sparrow on Richards, which ultimately resulted in Richards taking on the role of Depp's father in the trilogy. Richards said that he's used to being imitated, but that not all are as convincing as Depp, explaining, "There's been lot's of wannabees. But it's all posing with a guitar. And not playing right, not looking right, so not being me... It's in the bones and in the moves."
Richards was asked if he was familiar with the movies before signing on for the role: "Oh s*** yeah. How can you not with your grandkids around? I saw it when Pirates 1 came out. Pirates 2 I did fall asleep (during), but I'd been up for three days."
The Rolling Stones will perform on Friday night (July 20th) in Budapest, Hungary. They'll be on the road in Europe through the end of August.
