Green Day has been voted Number Four on a list of the Top 15 Environmentally Friendly Bands by the environmental news service Grist.com. The trio was cited for teaming with the Natural Resources Defense Council on a "Move America Beyond Oil" campaign, as well as for making a number of YouTube videos voicing support for environmental protection and smarter energy policies. Godsmack will film its headlining performance at this summer's Sturgis Motorcycle Rally for an upcoming DVD, using a 19-camera crew. There's no word on whether the DVD will be part of the previously announced 10th anniversary box set that the band has in the works. Godsmack will perform on August 7th at the annual event, which runs from the 6th through the 12th in Sturgis, South Dakota. (Blabbermouth)

Alter Bridge has signed a new deal with an unnamed division of the Universal Music Group, with an official announcement expected soon. The band, featuring three former members of Creed, left Wind-Up Records last year and has been shopping for a new contract since. There's no word yet on a release date for the group's second album.
