New Metallica live show full of oldies

Metallica unveiled the set list for its European Sick of the Studio '07 summer tour on Thursday night (June 28th) at the first show in Lisbon, Portugal. According to Blabbermouth, the 18-song set leaned heavily on the group's first five albums, with only "The Memory Remains" representing the Load/Reload albums and nothing at all played from the band's most recent release, 2003's St. Anger. After opening with three straight numbers from 1984's Ride The Lightning -- "Creeping Death," "For Whom The Bell Tolls" and the title track -- the quartet also rolled out '80s epics like "Disposable Heroes," "...And Justice For All" and "The Four Horseman."

The set also contained radio hits such as "One," "Enter Sandman," "Sad But True" and "The Unforgiven."

Last summer's European jaunt featured the band performing its entire 1986 album, Master of Puppets.

Metallica plays on Tuesday (July 3rd) in Athens, Greece. The band will join the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Foo Fighters and others at London's Live Earth concert on July 7th before headlining Wembley Stadium on the 8th.

The group plans to make complete live recordings from this tour available for paid download at its LiveMetallica.com site.
