New Smashing Pumpkins album streaming online

The first new album from the Smashing Pumpkins in seven years, Zeitgeist, is now streaming in its entirety at AOL Music and Spinner.com. In addition, a video for the CD's first single, "Tarantula," was posted at those and other web sites on Monday (July 2nd). Zeitgeist arrives in stores on July 10th and follows up 2000's MACHINA/The Machines of God, the last officially released collection of new material from the group before founder Billy Corgan put it on ice.

The Pumpkins are nearing the end of their nine-show residency at Asheville, North Carolina's Orange Peel, with shows remaining on Tuesday night (July 3rd) and Thursday (July 5th).

The group will next play in New Jersey on the 7th at the Live Earth concert and will perform 13 shows at the Fillmore in San Francisco later this month.

Zeitgeist will arrive with four different track listings. Versions for Best Buy, Target and iTunes will each contain a bonus track not found on any of the others, forcing fans to buy all four or find them online illegally.

The Smashing Pumpkins have also announced a major fall tour, with tickets going on sale July 14th. Tour dates are as follows:
