Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder has recorded an entire album of solo material to serve as the soundtrack for Into The Wild, a new movie directed by Sean Penn. My Chemical Romance singer Gerard Way said in a Norwegian interview that he is no longer engaged. Rumors that Way was engaged began surfacing in the spring, with the vocalist confirming it early last month. Now, however, it seems the relationship has gone south, with Way simply saying, "That's just something that happens." (Absolute Punk)

Korn and its management are being sued by the organizers of France's Hellfest for failing to perform at the festival last month. The band announced on June 22nd, the day of the show, that it was canceling its appearance due to "severe weather" conditions "and a negligent promoter who didn't provide adequate cover for our gear," adding, "We were advised to cancel the show for risk of the band being electrocuted." But the show's promoters insist that "all conditions were met to insure Korn's safety and that the band was paid its full fee in advance for its performance. (Blabbermouth)

Morrissey has resumed his tour after a throat infection forced him to cancel several shows last week, including a June 30th performance at New York's Madison Square Garden. The British singer restarted the trek on Monday night (July 2nd) in Vienna, Virginia after being ordered to not sing for five days. He expects to reschedule all the postponed shows.
