Rock quick hits

Yellowcard releases its new album, titled Paper Walls, on Tuesday (July 17th). The disc follows up 2006's Lights and Sounds and marks the recording debut of guitarist Ryan Mendez, who replaced founding guitarist Ben Harper in late 2005. The band is currently appearing on the 2007 Warped Tour and will hit the road with Blue October in September.

Velvet Revolver and ex-Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash said that he's looking forward to eventually hearing the long-delayed and still-unreleased new G N' R album, Chinese Democracy. Slash explained, "I'm sure it's got some amazing s*** on it 'cause I know Axl (Rose, singer) and what he's capable of. So I'm interested to hear it but patient enough to wait until he figures it out. Because I don't have anything to do with it, it's easy for me to say that." (Gigwise)

The Smashing Pumpkins are looking for the little girls who appeared in the cover photograph of their second album, Siamese Dream. Since the disc was released in 1993, the girls would be teenagers at this point. Anyone with any information on their whereabouts should send an email to web@smashingpumpkins.com. (Stereogum)

Hurt is now streaming a full-length version of the song "10 Ton Brick" at the band's MySpace page. The track will head to radio and be available on iTunes in early August. The song comes off the band's upcoming album, Volume II, which is due out on September 25th. (Tunelab Music)
