Two die after Rolling Stones show

Two members of the Rolling Stones' stage crew were killed and two others injured early on Friday (June 29th), while dismantling the stage after the band's Thursday night concert at the Vicente Calderon stadium in Madrid, Spain. The accident occurred when three workers fell 33 feet from a metal structure and landed on a fourth, according to police.

BBC News reports that a Rolling Stones spokesman said the band were "deeply saddened" about the incident, adding, "Their heartfelt wishes for a speedy recovery go out to the injured and their profound sympathies to the families of the deceased."

The two injured workers are being treated at a local hospital. The dead workers are 44-year-old Benno Goldewijk from Holland and 38-year-old Alfredo Pecina Matias, from Spain.

The Rolling Stones were due to play in El Eijido, Spain this weekend as part of their A Bigger Bang world tour.
