Van Halen touring in September 2007?

Van Halen is tentatively preparing to tour the U.S. in September, according to MelodicRock.com. The site reported that "parties involved in all aspects of the Van Halen machine are mobilizing to get this tour set up" and that "dates and venues are being penciled in." The lineup for the tour would be the same first announced for the group's eventually aborted summer trek, featuring Eddie Van Halen on guitar, his son Wolfgang on bass, his brother Alex on drums and David Lee Roth on vocals for the first time since 1985.

Eddie Van Halen entered rehab earlier this spring after the first proposed reunion tour with Roth fell through, followed by his failure to show up at the band's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in March.

The legendary guitarist's only official public appearance since rehab occurred in April, when he acted as an honorary official at a NASCAR race in Phoenix. His first post-rehab interview appeared on newsstands last week in the latest issue of Guitar World magazine.

Eddie issued a statement in late May thanking fans for their support during his stay in rehab, saying, "I want everyone to know that I am truly grateful."
