Van Halen to announce 2007 tour

Van Halen will announce the details of its reunion tour with original singer David Lee Roth at a Monday morning (August 13th) press conference in Los Angeles, according to Billboard. The tour is expected to begin in October and hit arenas in 50 North American cities. Word that the group was relaunching what was initially intended to be a summer trek began circulating in early July after dates at several arenas were put on hold. The tour would be the first in 22 years to feature Roth behind the mic, with guitarist Eddie Van Halen's teenage son Wolfgang replacing founding member Michael Anthony on bass.

The first attempt at the tour fell through this past spring, as Eddie Van Halen entered rehab after failing to show up for the band's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Van Halen last toured in 2004 with Sammy Hagar on vocals, grossing $40 million despite erratic behavior on the part of Eddie.
