Bon Jovi releases new single
Bon Jovi is out with the new single "'Till We Ain't Strangers Anymore" featuring LeAnn Rimes. Jon Bon Jovi says he initially struggled with who would sing the female part, saying that he really saw the song as a duet but he "couldn't find who that woman was gonna be." Bon Jovi added, "We wanted a woman, I didn't want a girl, I wanted someone who understood the interpretation of this lyric....it was finished, wrapped, done and I hadn't found the girl. It was one of those moments where you almost hit yourself in the head -- duh, she was right here the whole time."Bon Jovi tells us that Rimes was an ideal fit: "And so she sang it, but in the key we recorded it in, which is a guy's key, the key of E. And I said, this is gonna be a great idea, let's go in and re-do it. So after the whole record was done we took the investment on time of two days and re-cut it in G, and she knocked it out, and for the most part I'm very very happy."
"Till We Ain't Strangers Anymore" is featured on Bon Jovi's latest release, Lost Highway. It also on Rimes' new album, Family, which came out on Tuesday, October 9th.
Jon Bon Jovi will host this weekend's (October 13th) Saturday Night Live episode. The band will also perform. This marks the first time Jon Bon Jovi takes over hosting duties and the group's fourth performance on the show.
Bon Jovi will begin a residency at the Prudential Center in New Jersey later this month.
