Foo Fighters debut at No3 with Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace
Foo Fighters debuted at Number Three on the Billboard album chart on Wednesday (October 3rd) with the band's sixth studio album, Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace. The record sold 168,000 copies in its first week in stores, just over half of the 311,000 copies sold by its predecessor, 2005's In Your Honor. The new disc earned Number One debuts in the U.K., Japan, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Belgium, with Top Five entries in Germany, Switzerland and Austria and other high chart placements in France, Italy and the Netherlands.The first single from Echoes... is "The Pretender," which was named radio's most added alternative rock song of 2007. The next track headed to radio stations is "Long Road to Ruin."
Foo Fighters are on a short U.S. tour that brings the band to Atlanta on Thursday night (October 4th).
The group will perform on the October 13th edition of Saturday Night Live before heading out on a European trek. A full North American tour is planned for early 2008.
