Led Zeppelin promoter says "drop dead eBay"

After tickets for the upcoming Led Zeppelin concert this November went on sale on eBay, the concert's promoter lashed out. Guardian Unlimited reported that Harvey Goldsmith called the online auction site "the biggest rip-off merchants in the world," and told Kerrang! Radio yesterday, "I wish eBay would drop dead and die... I have begged them to take (the tickets) off and they have basically told us to f*** off. So I will do everything I possible can to ruin their lives."

The show will take place on November 26th at London's 02 Arena. Although fans who won the right to purchase tickets were given a password to validate their purchase, only those tickets that match both the password holder's name and the credit card holder's name will be honored.

Goldsmith responded to criticism of this new policy, writing on his blog, "I am fully aware that there seems to be concerns about people who became winners in the ballot and then decided to use somebody else's credit card to pay for the ticket. However, I am convinced that those who are bleating the loudest seem to be protesting too much for other reasons."

The one-off reunion concert features members Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones, with Jason Bonham, the son of original drummer John Bonham.

The band is releasing a new greatest hits album, titled Mothership, in November.

Proceeds from the concert will go to the Ahmet Ertegun Education Fund, which provides students with annual scholarships to universities in the U.K., the U.S., and Turkey. Also, a music scholarship will be established at Ravensbourne College in the U.K.
