More hard rock amusement park details surface
The Hard Rock theme park is set to open in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina next year and news of a Led Zeppelin roller coaster has already surfaced. Rolling Stone reports that, in addition to a three-story "Mount Rockmore" featuring the faces of Elvis, Jimi Hendrix, John Lennon and Bob Marley, the 140-acre park will have more than 40 attractions, including four other coasters. There's going to be one called "Midnight Rider," dedicated to Southern rock, which will run inside a building styled as a haunted old sawmill. The park will feature a stunt show, a country ice show, a "Pinball Wizard" arcade and an amphitheater.Led Zeppelin -- the Ride is a 155-foot-tall steel roller coaster. Led Zep guitarist Jimmy Page named the ride himself and chose to have the track "Whole Lotta Love" play throughout the ride.
Tickets most days will be $46 and free for children under three years old.
