New Eric Clapton DVD: More details
Eric Clapton's 2007 Crossroads Guitar Festival is coming to DVD on November 20th. More details have emerged about which songs will appear on the two disc set, which features 38 tracks from the July 28th show outside Chicago. Among the highlights are songs from Blind Faith members Clapton and Steve Winwood, who perform together on "Can't Find My Way Home," "Dear Mr. Fantasy," "Presence of the Lord" and others. Willie Nelson, Sheryl Crow and Vince Gill are heard on the classic song "On The Road Again." Clapton also performs some Derek and the Dominos material and does a cover of George Harrison's "Isn't It a Pity" and the Band's Robbie Robertson joins Clapton on Bo Diddley's "Who Do You Love."Other performers included on the DVD are Buddy Guy, Derek Trucks, John Mayer, Los Lobos and others. The show wraps with Guy playing a set featuring an all-star jam on "Sweet Home Chicago."
The Crossroads Guitar Festival raises money for the Crossroads Centre, Antigua, a chemical dependency treatment and education facility that Clapton founded.
Clapton will release a two-CD retrospective, titled Complete Clapton, next Tuesday (October 9th). Also due the same day is his autobiography. The book chronicles Clapton's career and personal life.
He's set to make appearances next week on NBC's Today and CNN's Larry King Live.
