Black Crowes line up Warpaint for 2008
The Black Crowes have set a March 4th release date for their new album, Warpaint, which will mark their first full-length studio release in seven years. It's coming out on their newly-formed independent label called Silver Arrow Records. Also new are two band members -- guitarist Luther Dickinson and keyboardist Adam MacDougall -- who join frontman Chris Robinson and his brother Rich Robinson, along with drummer Steve Gorman and bassist Sven Pipien. The 11-track album was produced at Allaire Studios in Woodstock, New York. Chris and Rich came up with every song on the set, except "God's Got It," which was written by Reverend Charlie Jackson. For the first time, the Black Crowes will perform an album of theirs in its entirety during a series of "one-night only" shows. Fans can also expect hits and other favorites too. Dates have not been announced yet. They'll then kick off a world tour March 24th with a headlining spot at the Byron Bay Festival in Australia. After touring overseas, the Black Crowes will head out on a U.S. trek.
The last Black Crowes album featuring all new original material came out in 2001.
Chris Robinson's divorce from Kate Hudson became final last month.
