Foo Fighters firm up N. American dates
Foo Fighters have announced the bulk of the band's first full-length North American tour in support of their recently released sixth album, Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace. The trek will begin on January 16th in Sunrise, Florida and include the band's first headlining appearance at New York's Madison Square Garden. Sixteen shows have been confirmed, with more on the way. Tickets are either on sale now or will go on sale the week of December 1st. As previously reported, Ticketmaster will hold an online auction for a limited amount of premium tickets at each date, with proceeds going to TreeBank, a non-profit organization focused on planting trees in urban areas. Foo Fighters have also sold an unprecedented 163,000 tickets in 24 hours for its June 6th and 7th shows at London's Wembley Stadium.
The quartet is now supplemented by four additional musicians in concert, including a keyboardist, a percussionist, a cellist and guitarist Pat Smear, who has previously played with both the Foos and Nirvana.
