Jimmy Page issues apology
Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page issued a personal apology on Monday (November 5th) for the postponement of the band's reunion concert on November 26th at London's O2 Arena. Page fractured a finger last week and is unable to play for three weeks, requiring the show to be moved to December 10th. Page said in his statement, "As you all know by now I was regrettably put in a situation where I had to postpone my performance at the Ahmet Ertegun Benefit show...In doing so I was very conscious of the fact that many people are traveling great distances to attend. I do want to let everyone know that this decision was unavoidable. My apologies to anyone who has been inconvenienced by this change."Page has not revealed which finger was fractured and how the injury occurred.
He concluded his statement by thanking the promoters, organizers and other artists involved with the show.
The heavily anticipated concert, a tribute to late Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun, will feature the surviving members of Zeppelin performing together for the first time in 18 years. Bill Wyman and the Rhythm Kings, Paul Rodgers, Paolo Nutini, and Foreigner are also scheduled to appear.
All tickets for the show will be valid for the rescheduled date. Anyone unable to attend the show on December 10th will be able to receive a full refund until noon U.K. time on November 14th.
Meanwhile, Zeppelin celebrated the impending release of its new best-of collection, Mothership, with a series of video projections at famous London locations on Monday night.
