Jimmy Page says Led Zep did a reheasal gig before announcing reunion

The three remaining members of Led Zeppelin weren't hasty when deciding to stage a reunion show. Guitarist Jimmy Page tells the BBC that they did a private rehearsal before announcing their comeback. He admitted, "We wanted to see how well we'd be playing together and once we played it was without doubt we wanted to do it." It seems the rehearsal went just fine. Page says it was "exhilarating" and that he's ready for the December 10th concert in London. The show originally was scheduled for November, but had to be pushed back after Page injured his finger.

Meanwhile, Page blasted Zeppelin's Live Aid reunions back in 1985, saying, "We came together and rehearsed with a drummer we'd never met before and then we were joined by Phil Collins who we'd never played with before on this great Live Aid stage. We went there with the spirit of it but actually it was pretty shambolic."

The upcoming sold-out concert is tribute to Ahmet Ertegun, the late founder of Atlantic Records.

Zeppelin released the retrospective Mothership last week.
