Nirvana bassist starts blogging

Ex-Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic has started writing a blog at the web site of alternative newspaper Seattle Weekly. Novoselic posted his first series of thoughts last week on subjects ranging from the definition of anarchy to late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain to the band's legendary "Smells Like Teen Spirit" video. Novoselic wrote that he was disappointed in a recent special about the clip shown on the Fuse channel because of the way it was edited and the lack of air time given to him and former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl.


In discussing Cobain and the origin of the title "Smells Like Teen Spirit," Novoselic wrote, "I know for sure that Kurt Cobain did not have any odor problems."

Novoselic currently plays bass in the latest lineup of veteran hardcore punk band Flipper.

Although semi-retired from music, Novoselic has stayed active politically in the Seattle area.
