Ozzy fan tasered during concert
A fan was tasered and arrested after allegedly fighting with police officers at an Ozzy Osbourne concert on Sunday (November 4th) in the Tyson Events Center in Sioux City, Iowa. According to the Sioux City Journal, the 16-year-old male allegedly tried to start a mosh pit near the end of Ozzy's show, leading security personnel to call police for help in removing the boy. Three officers tried to take hold of the fan, who was allegedly swinging his arms and acting in an aggressive manner, leading the officers to fire the taser at him.The fan was charged with misdemeanor counts of interference with official acts, failure to obey a police officer and assault on a police officer.
The taser, which fires an electrical current at a person along a barbed cord, got national attention two months ago when a man was tasered while trying to ask Democratic Senator John Kerry a question during Kerry's appearance at the University of Florida.
An "Ozzy pre-concert" party in Fargo, North Dakota late last month turned out to be a front for a police sting operation, with Ozzy demanding an apology from the local sheriff for using his name.
