Ozzy: No plan to write memoirs

With the success of Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx's recent memoir and the hype surrounding the new autobiography from Slash, Ozzy Osbourne seems a likely candidate to tell his colorful life story in a book. But Ozzy said in a recent call with reporters that he has no plans for now to put his memories down on paper: [ Click to listen if you have a backstage pass] "You know what, I mean, Sharon (Osbourne, wife and manager)'s done exceedingly well, she's written two books about her life. But there's a lot in my career and my life that I remember, but there's also a s***load that I've got no idea what happened. I mean, since I had my bike accident, my short-term memory is really f***ed, you know."

Meanwhile, Ozzy has expressed his outrage at the sheriff's department in Fargo, North Dakota, which used a fake Ozzy pre-concert party as cover for a sting operation. Some 40 attendees showed up only to get arrested for a variety of outstanding charges and warrants. Sheriff Paul D. Laney later held a televised press conference about the event.

Ozzy said in a statement, "Instead of holding a press conference to pat himself on the back, Sheriff Laney should be apologizing to me for using my name in connection with these arrests. It's insulting to me and to my audience and it shows how lazy this particular sheriff is when it comes to doing his job."

The singer continued that the sheriff "went out of his way to tarnish my reputation by implying that I somehow attract a criminal element, which is certainly not true. My audiences are good hard-working people who have been hugely supportive of my music for nearly four decades...It's obvious to me that this sheriff has an agenda and is just trying to make a name for himself on my back."

Ozzy concluded by saying that he harbored no ill will toward the people of Fargo. His tour with Rob Zombie continues on Tuesday (November 6th) in Rapid City, South Dakota.

Ozzy's latest album, Black Rain, will be reissued on November 20th as a "Special Limited Edition Tour Package," featuring a bonus CD of three live tracks and three B-sides.
