Ozzy Osbourne pre-concert party turns into sting operation
A party held before an Ozzy Osbourne concert on Monday (October 29th) in Fargo, North Dakota turned out to be a sting operation by the local sheriff. According to the West Central Tribune, approximately 40 people showed up for what was advertised as an "invitation-only" party at a club prior to Osbourne's show at the Fargodome. But deputies crashed the bogus blowout and arrested partygoers on charges ranging from outstanding fines to neglected child support payments. Sheriff Paul D. Laney said, "Some actually thought it was pretty funny," but added that others got angry: "I think they were upset with themselves for being had."The "party" was sponsored by PDL Productions, a fake firm created by Sheriff Laney.
The event's "security staff" was composed of deputy sheriffs, North Dakota probation and parole agents and members of the local drug enforcement task force. The sheriff even had T-shirts made up for the "party," although they contained a tiny sheriff's badge if one looked closely.
Meanwhile, Ozzy himself is sponsoring an online contest in which the grand prize winner and three friends will get to have a pre-Thanksgiving dinner with Ozzy at his new home in Los Angeles. According to TMZ.com, Ozzy will apparently make traditional Yorkshire pudding himself. The winner also gets $500 and a ride to Ozzy's concert in San Diego on November 20th. Just make sure you have no outstanding warrants before entering.
