The Police, Van Halen and Genesis have all been nominated for the Favorite Reunion Tour at The 34th Annual People's Choice Awards. The People's Choice Awards are different from most industry awards sows in that that the winners are actually chosen by their fans. Thepolice.com reported that voting ends on December 5th and the results will be determined shortly thereafter.

The 34th Annual People's Choice Awards will air on CBS on January 8th live from Los Angeles' Shrine Auditorium.

Last Thursday (November 15th) the Police's tour won big at the fourth annual Billboard Touring Awards, which were held at New York City's Roosevelt Hotel, according to Billboard.

The band won the awards for top tour and top draw, which honors the year's top-grossing tour and the top ticket-selling tour. Kathy Schenker Management, which is the management company for the tour, won the award for top manager.

The Billboard Touring Awards "honor the industry's top artists, venues and professionals for the year, based on the Billboard Boxscore chart."

In other Police news:

Andy Summers told Uncut that the Police have finally found a way to preserve their artistic integrity while maintaining friendly while on tour: "I mean it's not like on Day One we were all hugging and kissing. It was a bit rough at the beginning, we've had to work towards a nice, balanced state. But it's hard to moan or bitch about anything in the face of such overwhelming success. It's one of the most successful tours of all time."

Summers says that the band's reputation of spending their career at each other's throats made for good copy but was far from accurate: [ Click to listen if you have a backstage pass] "We had an incredible time, and there was a great camaraderie. We're all very good friends still, but you know, any band that's worth anything, I think, there's tension. You know, it's just goes with the territory. We weren't -- we're not three mellow, laid-back guys, you know? We were three fighters, and, you know, we fought about our music, but just to get the best possible music we could."

The Police perform on Saturday and Sunday (November 17th and 18th) in Atlanta, Georgia at the Phillips Arena.
