Quiet Riot frontman was dead 6 days before being discovered

Quiet Riot frontman Kevin DuBrow was apparently dead for six days before his body was discovered last Sunday (November 25th) at his Las Vegas home, according to a report by Las Vegas TV station KTNV. The 52-year-old singer was found dead when a neighbor kicked down his door after repeated calls from DuBrow's family members went unanswered. DuBrow's fiancee, Lori Lee Samson, was the last person to see DuBrow alive and said that she knew something was wrong when she didn't hear from him for several days. An autopsy was performed on DuBrow on Monday (November 26th), but the official cause of death could take six to 12 weeks to be determined, depending on toxicology tests.

DuBrow led Quiet Riot to fame with its 1983 album, Metal Health, which was the first heavy metal record to hit Number One on the Billboard chart. The album featured the smash hit "Cum On Feel The Noize."

The group later split with DuBrow, although he has led revamped versions of Quiet Riot since the early '90s.

Quiet Riot drummer Frankie Banali said at his web site on Tuesday (November 27th), "With Kevin's passing a very large part of my life and my history has come to end and I can't imagine life without his presence...I can't utter a sentence or think of my dear friend or even say his name without a flood of tears."

W.A.S.P. frontman Blackie Lawless told the Los Angeles Times, "He was one of the best singers rock has ever seen. He had a voice like a razor blade that just cut right through you. And that voice is now silent."
