Slash & wife suing real estate agents
Velvet Revolver guitarist Slash and his wife have filed a lawsuit over a house that the couple claim they were duped into buying, according to TMZ.com. The celebrity gossip web site obtained a copy of the suit, which was filed on Friday (November 16th) in Los Angeles County Superior Court. It alleges that real estate agent Gregory Holcomb and Sotheby's International Realty led Slash, whose real name is Saul Hudson, and his wife Perla to believe that they had acquired their "dream house." They were allegedly told that the house was on a private, gated street, when it turned out to be on a public street with very little parking. The Hudsons also claim that the house was smaller than the 7,800 square feet advertised in the listing. The lawsuit claims that the Hudsons have suffered "grief, shame, humiliation, embarrassment, anger, worry, disappointment, nervousness, stomach disorders, backaches, loss of appetite and inability to concentrate on work" as a result of the alleged deceptions. They are suing for more than $1 million.
Slash recently published his autobiography and told us last week that he has a solo album in his sights.
Velvet Revolver was forced to cancel a four-city Japanese tour after the band members were denied visas. Although the group previously toured Japan in 2005, Japanese immigration officials took a tougher stance this time on the backgrounds of various band members, which have included arrests. In a statement, the group said, "We don't understand why the authorities won't give us visas when they granted them for us in 2005 for what was a successful tour and a great experience. We love Japan and look forward to our return there."
Velvet Revolver is still scheduled to tour Australia in early December.
