Dave Grohl: Grammy nominations feel pretty good
Foo Fighters have been nominated for five Grammy Awards this year, third most behind Kanye West's eight and Amy Winehouse's six. In addition to several rock prizes, the band's nods include Album of the Year for Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace and Record of the Year for "The Pretender." Frontman Dave Grohl told us why the Grammys are important to him: [

And then when you get acknowledged by, like, the Recording Academy, by all of these people that are, you know, well-versed in music and love and respect music and the craft of writing songs and making music, when they acknowledge you for what you do, it makes you feel pretty good, you know, like you're doing something right." The group is also nominated for Best Rock Album, Best Rock Song and Best Hard Rock Performance.
Grohl said that he wasn't sure yet if the band will perform at the ceremony, which airs on February 10th on CBS.
Foo Fighters will begin its first full-length North American tour in support of Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace on January 16th in Sunrise, Florida. The trek will include the group's first headlining appearance at New York's Madison Square Garden.
The band has also sold an unprecedented 163,000 tickets in 24 hours for its June 6th and 7th shows at London's Wembley Stadium.
