Eddie Van Halen & wife finalize divorce

After years of legal separation and two years after filing, Eddie Van Halen and Valerie Bertinelli are finally divorced. The split was made on Thursday, December 20th, in Los Angeles Superior Court. The couple was married in 1981, and Bertinelli, who stood by Van Halen through years of substance abuse, filed for divorce in December of 2005, citing irreconcilable differences. No details were disclosed about the financial settlement or the custody arrangement for the couple's 16-year-old son, Wolfgang.

Wolfgang is currently playing bass in Van Halen as the controversial replacement for founding member Michael Anthony.

Van Halen's reunion tour with frontman David Lee Roth raked in $56.7 million in ticket sales in 2007, placing it fifth on the trade magazine Pollstar's annual survey.

The group plays Friday and Sunday (December 28th and 30th) in Las Vegas, then begins its 2008 tour on January 22nd in Oklahoma City.
