John Lennon's hair fetch $50,000
A lock of John Lennon's hair sold for $48,000 to an unnamed bidder yesterday (Wednesday, December 12th) in an auction. According to the Associated Press, the piece of Beatles memorabilia was collected by the band's hairdresser. The hair was placed inside an autographed copy Lennon's book "A Spaniard in the Works" which Lennon gave to -- along with the lock of his hair -- to Betty Glasow, the band's hairdresser. He wrote in the book, "To Betty, Lots of Love and Hair, John Lennon xx." Glasow said she decided to sell the items because she wanted fans to have them.
